The piece of bone was removed by the surgeon after his skull had been crushed by a piece of steel breaking from an automatic riveter. The Jury brought In a verdict of $2500 In Field's favor yesterday. The suit was against the Northwest Steel Company. The In jury occurred In July, last year. Is finished and will be opened today for the first time. The station consist of a waiting-room, ticket office, freight room and platform. All train, except the Shasta Limited, will stop at thia depot. Thl depot la temporary and established at th re quest of the Lower Alblna Improve ment Club to ascertain If there Is call for a permanent depot. The club asked for freight facilities, and probably will get them during the present year. Letter Writtno Bnih-os Arrest. Robert H. Neyman. a resident of Marlon County, was arrested yesterday on a charge of sending objectionable mat ter through the mails. The specific charge Is that he sent several objec tionable letters to a married woman, he being a married man with a family himself. Harris and J. H. Qulgg. officials of the city of Wenatchee. are at the Oregon Hotel for a few daya while Investigat ing the Portland system of hard-surfaced streets. The citizens of Venat chee Intend to construct several miles of hard-surfaced streets next Summer and the officials are In Portland to determine which kind givea the best results. Lawsos New Manager.
