Allman and Kevins, the tenor and the country girl, made a hit and re ceived several curtain calls. Miss Nev ins Is a creditable violinist and Allman has a good voice. A course of Inter esting pictured completes the bill. Kmprcss. SO out of the ordinary that it Is positively novel In every sense is L Petite Reoue, tho little, ttny-wecny-eeny manikin people who headline a most meritorfus bill at the Empress. Harry Irwin presents these half dozen players, at least he presents their heads and voices, but some clever man ufacturer lias made papermache bodies fo fit and the result in a regular performance in miniature form. Into three pans is the act divided, showing first five celebrities, the manikins singing and imitating famous folk; next is a scene from "Pinafore," then a midnight serenade with the soloists' heads attached to cat bodies. A dandy little dancer is Nettle Hyde In an entertaining number with Charles Williams, who keeps the piano busy for Miss Hyde's exceptionally clever Russian dance and of his own accord plays some on the violin.
