The defense still may excuse peremptorily any venire man passed for cause. J. Lianlelson, who operates a planing machine in an East Side. lumber plant, was excused because of his lack of citizenship. He said also that he Is a member of the Industrial Workers of the World. Curl Majenkl turned out to be a client of Special Prosecutor Davis; K. O. Campbell, a grocer, Is not a citl-x-n: H. C. Scanimon is opposed to capi tal punishment. All three were excused by the court. W. S. llalvor. of 531 East Ankeny street, an insurance and real estate man. was passed for cause by the de fense. His examination by the state will be continued, this morning. Mil Mysteriously Stabbed. SAN FRANCISCO. March 11. Joseph Knauer. an aged German, was found unconscious on the floor of his home in this city today with 15 knife wounds in his body, believed to have been in flicted by burglars. Knauer was un able to give any account of the assault. The room in which he was found had been ransacked and a small amount of money taken. His condition is critical. Scalding- Water Kills Tot.
