He waa also a member of the Oregon City Board of School Directors, member of the State Board of Health, and was an ex-presldent of the State Medical Association. He waa the first exalted ruler of Oregon City Lodge of Elks, and also a member of the Masonic order and of the Son of the Revolution. Dr. Carll was born In Chloopee. Mass.. October it. 1S58. the 'son of Mr. snd Mrs. Jason L. Carll, of English an cestors, who settled In this country pre. vlous to th Revolution. Dr. Carll attended the publlo schools of his native city, and later Harvard, where he took the special medical course, snd from that Institution ha graduated In 1S85. He cam to Oregon In 18SS. settling at PortLand, where he passed two years, coming to this city In 1S8S. He had practiced medicine here ever sine.
