Three of the men were Harry G. Moore, G. W. HealAy and Jess Cohen, who were Indicted on four charpes of robbing residences here In the Cen tennlal and who are said to have brok en Into 43 houses In Portland during the Rose Festival Moore pleaded guilty to two Indict merits charging him with larceny In a dwelling. He admitted having been relased from Folsom prison In March, 1309, and that he finished a term in tha Walla Walla penitentiary August 1. Hs was sentenced to serve seven years on each Indictment, or a total of 14 years. HeeJy pleaded guilty to two Indict ments charging him with larceny. He admitted that he had been sentenced to th penitentiary from Portland soma years ago, but was paroled. Later be served ti months In the penitentiary t Walla Walla. Judire Eakln today sentenced htm to serve 10 years on each indictment or 10 years In alL Jesse Cohen, the third of th trio. plead guilty to two Indictments charg ing him with larcony In a dwelling. He said he recently Joined the Oregon National Guard at Portland and went to th noampmnt at Columbia Beach. As there waa no testimony that ha had been In prison before, the court gave him an Indeterminate eentence of from one to sevon yeers on each Indlotment. Cohen had posed aa the Innocent one of the trio, while Moore admitted his guilt and assisted the police In recov ering some of ths stolen property. This mads Cohen angry and he told tha District Attorney after the sentence bsd been pronounced, that Moore will not "leave the penitentiary alive." Albert F. The price under the contract la $3 a thousand feet, atumpago figures. The areas were burned over by the forest fires of 110. Mr. Holcomb says ths gal Is th largest recorded for the St. Jo forest for months. J. P. McOoldrlck, president of the company, aald today: "Under our contract only such white pine timber aa will yield a profit after salvage will be cut. At the present time we are unable ta glv an estimate of what tb total cut will be. An accredited teach er's course probably will be estab lished In the high school this week, which will provide graduates with a teachers certificate.
