Washington's Governor Wants Ap polntlre Board, Senator Is for Elective light Due. OLTMPIA. Wash, Feb. Si. (Special) There ta talk around the Capitol and hotel that Senator Falconer, of Sno homish, who baa been considered dote to Governor Hay. I about to break away from the Chief Executive and attend to Ma owa political knitting: In nla own way. It la aald that differ ences have arisen between the two w'thln the last few daya over certain measures now before the Legislature. Since the commission Insurance code has been before the Senate there has been some talk that the administra tion line-up is likely to break on that measure before trie code la disposed of one way or another. This bill pro vides for an appointive board to look after Insurance subjects and to take the place of the present State Insurance Commissioner. This bill la knowa to meet with the approval of the Governor aa It now stands. There la special significance attached to this as the provisions of the bill conform with IUt'i Ideas of the short ballot In that the proposed Insurance Hoard U to be created by appointive Instead of elective officers. (Senator Falconer, however, la be lieved to have a different view on the subject and aome of his friends In the Kenate give out the Impression that he wants the members of the proposed board to be elected Instead of ap pointed. Several conferences were held yes terday among; the Senators, who have heretofore been voting for all admin istration measures, and those In posi tion to know declare that a decisive rupture will take place when the bill romes up for final action tomorrow. It la understood that aa a result of these conferences; either Senator Fal coner or Senator Bryan will offer an amendment to the bill to make the hoard elective Instead of appointive. In that case, should the bill pass and become a law. the act would not be. come operative until after the next general election. Upon tVs another treatment of fine gravel to fill the voida wtll be made and rolled to a uniform grade. When thia Is com pleted the road will be equal for com fort and travel to a city street. It baa been the policy of the court to Improve tie roads as rapidly aa funds have been . net aside for such purposes and this ytv extraordinary effort w'.ll be put forth to out-do any of tha previous years In developing good roads throughout the county. Most all the work that has been done I-as come under the supervision of the County Judys, who has personally looked after the matter rather than hire a general overseer aa by law provided; in t.its the county has been saved the wages of a supervisor.
