I'ortland No. 27, Eureka No. 125 and Unchurch No. lit. Bright' Diseass la Fatal. Frank M. Cohn. formerly one of the best known cigar dealer In Portland, died at his home, at 747 Gllsan atret. Sun day from a sever attack of Bright' disease. The deceased had been afflicted over two yeara. He came to Portland In 187 and opened a cigar store at First and Morrison streets, where he wa located for nearly 20 year. He retired from business sev eral year ago. ROAD TO SHOW PRODUCTS Northern Taclfic to Exhibit Oregon Growth In East. Oregon will be well represented at the fourth annual corn exhibition. which will be held at Columbus, O.. January 13 to February 11. The passenger department of the Northern Pacific Hallway has arranged for a display of Northwest products and ill make a special feature of Ore gon specimens. Ample space has been secured In a building directly opposite the Union Depot In Columbus, where the display will be presented to the view of all convention visitor. A thl show follow closely the Western Land Show at Omaha, the rail road will use the same material for the Columbus display aa at Omaha. A liberal amount of advertising matter and Illustrated booklets ha been pre pared for distribution among the visit or. The names and addresses of all visitors to the Oregon booth will be recorded to be followed later with com munications urging them to come to the state. Pasadena, Cal., at 4 o'clock yesterday morning. He was 75 yeara old. Coun cllman Lombard was at his father's bedside when death came, having left Portland a week ago to pay him vlait. Benjamin Lombard has been living in Los Angeles, for his health a year and a half. He Is said to be worth be tween 13,000,000 and $4,000,000, having large property Interest throughout the United States. His holdings In eluded a large amount of wheat and fruit land In the Palouse Valley, Wash ington, and at North Yakima. Wash. He also owned Inside real estate in Chicago and Los Angeles. Some of hla property was In Springfield, Mo. He was Interested In a bank In Kan sas City. Mo., and had timber land In Washington and Oregon. He was a member of the Mayflower Society of America, of which his son, Gay Lombard, Is also a mmber. In 1892-94 he was president of the Lorn bard Investment Company. Besides Gay Lombard, Mr. Lombard left two aons and a daughter, Frank Lombard, of New York City; Harry V. Lombard, of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Nyman, of Washington. D. C. Mrs. Rose Lombard, the widow and step mother of the children survives her husband. CAMPAIGN SOON TO OPEN Portland V. M. C.'A. la Membership Content With Other Cities. Nineteen teams of ten men each are being organized by the Portland Young Men's Christian Association to conduct a whirlwind membership cam paign during the week beginning next Monday. The campaign will be In com petition with the associations or Se ttle, Spokane and Tacoma. Portland nd Seattle will try to gain 600 mem bers each during the week, while the other two cities will try to enroll 200 each. The Portland teams are to meet at a dinner In the T. M. C. A. Auditorium next Friday night at 6:15 o'clock. At that time methods will be discussed, rules of the campaign outlined and literature distributed. Portland already has a large lead In membership over the other three competitors and the local Y. M. C. A. officers are deter mined to win the contect.
