WOMAN MAY BE DEPORTED Mrs. Vera de Noie Is Under Arrest Again In Seattle. SEATTLE, July 2. United States tmml gTRtlon officers today arrested and took . to the detention station Mrs. Vera de Noie, who arrived recently from Hong kong, charging that she is not entitled to enter the United States. Mrs. de Nolo arrived in San Francisco from China In April, bringing beautiful furniture said . to be valued at $30,000, which she sought to enter as household goods. In her controversy with the customs officials she claimed acquaintance with a number of "United States Senators and a former Governor of an Eastern state, whom she said she had entertained at her home In Hongkong. The goods were ad mitted on payment of small duty and Mrs. de Noie took up residence In a fashionable part of Seattle, where she was soon arrested for selling liquor with out a license. Yesterday the Government ordered her furniture reappraised and today she was arrested .and held for examination and possible deportation. , DAILY METEOROLOfilCAI. REPORT. PORTLAND. July 2. CAPITOL HILL Inside property on the West Side in Portland proper, 5-cent carfare, 12 min utes' ride from the business center of the city on the Oregon Electric Rail way; depot on the erround; improved streets and sidewalks. We are now preparing: to eupply with our own water system for Immediate use all people desiring to build, although with in a short time city water will be ex tended to Capitol Hill, as we are now entitled to- It from the fact that a large portion of Capitol Hill is inside the city limits. Streets, sidewalks and water mains are paid for by ourselves, not bonded and charged up against the lots, simply we have paid for them. These Improvements are not promised in the future the work is now being done. Go out and see for yourselves. Every lot is 60x100 feet or larger, all cleared, high and sightly; fine soli, no stone or gravel, and the price from $200 to $400 each with easv terms. Where can you beat this in the United States, considering its close proximity to the business center of a city the size of Portland? It is simply offering a premium to people to buy these lots at these prices, and if we did not have so many of them we would build a high board fence around Capitol Hill and go fishing for one year and come back and sell these beautiful lots for three times the price we are now asking. Capitol Hill is the largest tract on the West Side, and the Oregon Electric Railway runs through the center of Capitol Hill for more than one-half mile; 40 trains a day stopping at Cap itol Hill, and the finest wagon and automobile road from the city leading right into our streets. CLOHESSY & SMITH 401 McKay Building. 7-R00M HOUSE, strictly modern, corner lot, magnifi cent absolutely unobstruct ed view. Rosebushes, etc. Chapin 6 Herlow 332 Chamber of Commerce. FOR SIX MONTHS Think of it! One-fourth of your sal ary goes every month for rent. We will help you stop It right now at Gregory Heights, where we are selling fine cleared lots as low as $150; $5 cash, $2.60 month, or homes on pay ments as low as $10 per month, and if you buy lots from us now we will furnish you a place to live for six months absolutely free. Come in and let us talk it over with you and take you out in one of our automobiles and show you the property. INVESTMENT C0.V 418 Corbett Bide., Fifth and Morrison. WHY NOT TRADE AND MAKE MONEY?
