ARRANGEMENT
In arranging these vaults and safe-deposit boxes, every want of the
public has been considered, not only in its scheme of construction, but
in the care and mechanical perfection of the woik. The arranging of
the safe-deposit boxes, the system of checking keys and many other
devices absolutely new and necessary for a perfect arrangement,
have been provided. Special attention was given the safe-deposit
boxes, as well as the system of individual protection to patrons; and
many other points not enjoyed nor permitted in any other plan of
arrangement known.
The most eminent vault engineers in the
world were retained to engineer this system
of safety-deposit vaults, and the result is
that the citizens of Portland can pride them
selves on having the most complete and se
cure safet3T-deposit vault in the world.
The renter of a safe-deposit box in this
vault has not only the" greatest protection
against the skilled burglar and fire, but also
has protection against mob violence.
The safety-deposit system, as a whole, is
one of the most interesting sights in the
United States.
No person possessing a paper of any value
or valuables of any nature should be with
out one of these safety-deposit boxes. The
use of a box can be procured as low as $4.00
per year.
Every citizen of the City of Portland
and vicinity should see this most interesting
sight and be in a position to show and ex
plain to their visiting friends, from other
cities, this most wonderful system of security.

DESIGN
In the designing of this entire work
the greatest care was taken and the
best systems in the country were in
spected and thoroughly investigated
before plans were decided upon, after
which this magnificent system of
vaults was completed and designed by
the Herring-Hall-Marvin Safe Com
pany of Hamilton, Ohio, with a view
of producing a piece of work not only
perfect in construction, but in design
as well. How fully this has been ac
complished has been appreciated by
the many who have visited the bank
and viewed this work.

SYSTEM
O
The system of time locks, combination locks,
and the checking and rechecking of these locks
by numerous devices, in conjunction with a
thorough individual protective system to each
safe-deposit box-renter, private booths, cour
teous attendance, etc., give to this system of
vault and safe-deposit construction the very
best ever devised, and in advance of any here
tofore compiled. The absolute protection
given by the coin vaults and individual burglar-proof
safes, safeguards the money and
securities. The book vaults are perfect in
arrangement and for the speedy and accurate
handling and filing of the many books and
papers necessary to such an institution. In
fact, every point has been considered where
system could be perfected.
