2B THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 2017 Film offering shows how students’ lives change SEASIDE — A screen- ing of “Paper Tigers” is being held Tuesday at the Seaside Civic and Conven- tion Center, 415 First Ave. The film looks at the lives of selected students at Lincoln High School, an alterna- tive school in Walla Walla, Washington, that special- izes in educating trauma- tized youth, and examines the Trauma-Informed Com- munities movement. There is no cost for admission. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with an introduc- tion to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), fol- lowed by the movie at 5:30 p.m. After the film, there is a panel discussion from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The panel members: are Amy Baker, interim executive director of Clatsop Behavioral Health- care; Debbie Morrow, board chairwoman of the Warren- ton-Hammond School Dis- trict; Dave Ham, chief of Seaside Police; and Tom Rogozinski, principal of Warrenton Grade School. Available in a variety of colors, each bou- quet has 10 blooms and sells for $5. Sales of the flowers help local women achieve their academic goals; in the past 20 years, Chapter FE has awarded over $125,000 in scholarships and loans to 80 local women.
