A large crowd attended literary Friday night. After a short program in arithmetic and spelling match was held between the outsiders, "scrubs," and the school children. The school children won in both. The "scrubs" did some good work for not having any practice. The score in arithme tic was 883 for school and 58G for the "scrubB." Mr. Bofto came home Sunday from Idaho, where he has been working in the mines. Several from here attended the bas ket social at Union Mills Saturday evening. Mrs. Hackanna of Union Mills vis ited In Meadow Brook Sunday. Rudolph Haug of Timber Grove spent a few days at P. 0. Schlew's last week. Parents' day wrs observed by Cor ral Creek school Friday afternoon, and prizes were donated by the teacher, Miss Pllklnston, for sewing and other work. Those winning prizes for sew ing were Marsraret Batalgla, first prize; Dorothy Say, second prize; Jo sephine Graham, third prlz. The first prize for the best bird house was awarded to Harold Tallman and the second prize to Orvid Baker. The work of the pupils was on exhibition and was very gratifying to parents and visitors.
