Directors Are Accused. lu January, 1912, the directorate consisted of the members, myself being-one of them, threo openly deter mined to wreck and steal, the fourth a dissimulator of the worst and most despicable kind lulled mo to sleep on promises. He got himself elected president and used the association funds lu his own business. The spoil ers quarrelled, two resigned. I left for Chicago on a sales campaign, Imar.liie my chagrin upon receipt of first letters from Oregon to llnd the dissimulator at his old tricks. I then decided his career as president should cease. I returned to Oregon in time for the annual stockholders meeting. I notified him of my Inten tion and ci.'mly listened to his threats of dire disaster that would surely fol low my action. Accounting Is Delayed. In Ju'y. 1912. I became president nnd thereupon demanded an account ing. The report contained false and malicious state ments placed therein In order to scare mo off and prevent proseutlon for his own nefarious transactions. In Au gust, 1912, we decided to move the office to Oregon City, this meant a considerable reduction in overhead ex pense and cutting off the valuable emoluments enjoyed by the dissimu lator. The Rosar- lans, the Portlund Ad club and other Portland organizations were repre sented In the pande and the Motor- boat club assisted with the events on the liver. The Portland party came here on the steamer Grahumona. The morning was devoted to an ad dress by Governor Withycombe, the stock parade, stock judging and drills and a Maypole dance by the children ot the schools, and early In the after noon a salmon, along with Demon Pessimism, was caught.
