Dean W- Morton, of the school of commerce of the University of Oregon, spoke on "Accounting and Nanking Methods," describing the late?t and beet methods of bank accounting. Luncheon Is Served. Oregon City bankers served lunch eon at noon for the visiting banki-ri and at the close of the Innrheon Mr. Eva Emery Dye, author of "McLoug'i lin and Old Oregon, "The Conquest." and other books, told of Oreuon City's connection with pioneer Oretfon. Hector MacPherson, of the exten sion department of the Oregon Agri culture college, spoke, advocating a system of state mral credit.?. His tail: was one of the features of the session. T. H. Vet, vice-president of the Amer ican Ir.stlute of Hanking and Transit, and manager of the I-add & Tilton bank of Poitlund, describing the na tional thrift campaign. C. L. Smith, agriculturist of the Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navi gation company, declared that one of the greatest needa of western Oregon was diversified farming. A. P. Ilatehaiu of the Portland Chamber of Commerce urged greater co-operation betwet-u the bankers and the fruit growers. Visitors Shown Through Mills. At the close of the session in the Commercial club, the visiting bankers were taken to the Crown Willamette mill and shown through the plant. An drew Naterlin and Sam Xizith, with two larger power boats, took the party up the river to the fulls and land-.-'I them on the east side of the river. They then went through the Hawley Pulp & Paper company mills. The trip through the Oregon City woolen mills was cancelled on account of lac't of time. The officers tk-cted were: S. L.
