Seven children were born, all of whom are living, except Charles M. Cage, who was killed in an auto truck accident about a month ago at hla home near Stafford. Mr. Cage then went to California and returned to MlchigaU via the Isthmus of Panama through New York. In 1X70 he ugain t-aine to Oregon and settled on the place w here bis wife still lives. His wife and seven children followed In 1S72. His place was the first one west of Oregon City that was touched with a plow. The children who survive together with his widow ore: Mrs. Ella Sweek and Henry Cage, of Hums. Harney county; Arden tiuge. of Cloverdalc, Tillamook county: John Q. Gnge, of St, Helen's: Mrs. O. Z. llolton. of Staf ford, and Mrs. Agnes Howard, of Waltsburg. Wash. Twenty-five grand hlldren and ten great grand-children are living. The monster membership campaign of the Oregon City Commercial,, club was given Impetus Tuesday, when the , chairmen of the 15 committees named to contest for the $50 prize offered by the club held a conference with the membership committee in the club par lors. Within four days, before definite or ganization of the committees h. s been made, 15 new members to the club have been obtained. There are 75 committeemen, consisting of 15 teams of five men each, and some of them are very enthusiastic over the pros pects for new members. The contests will terminate In 30 days from last Friday, or November 15.
