RESOLUTION IS PREPARED AND WILL BE VOTED ON AT NEXT POMONA MEETING. The employment of an agricultural agent for Clackamas county may be recommended by the Pomona grange, following; a meeting of that body at Sandy Wednesday. The session was well attended and a good program was given. A resolution, urging the "iniploymcnt of an expert by the county, was intro duced but final action delayed until the next meeting of th rrange at Harding, three months from now. The resolution was freely discussed at the meeting Wednesday anJ the grange will endeavor to bring the issue be fore the people In the next three months. The resolution follows in full: Whereas, the national government has provided funds for the purpose of carrying the benefits of the scientific investigations of the experimental sta tions connected with the agricultural colleges direct to the farmers through the extension department and by means of a county agent; and Whereas, the state of Oregon has compiled with the requirements of the national government by appropriating a like sum to assist in payment of the expenses of such agent in such coun ties as desire this agricultural expert; and Whereas, the state law required that each county employing the expert shall pay half his expenses and salary, the state and national government paying the other half; therefore be it RESOLVED, that Clackamas Coun ty Pomona grange favors the appoint ment of an agricultural agent for this county, and resolved that necessary provision should be made for this agent in the formation of the next bud get by the county court; and further Resolved, that copies of these reso lutions be forwarded to the county court and be furnished the papers of the county for publication and discus sion. A resolution urging Oregon repre sentatives In congress to do all in their power to secure action of congress conferring title to the state of the Oregon & California railroad lands up on payment of $2.50 per acre, was passed.
