BAKERY MOVES TO AURORA. CANDY. Ore., June 10. (Special) Harry Dufer has closed hlg bakery here and will move to Aurora. He is now having a bliop there prepared and as soon as It is finished he and his wife will move to the Marlon county town. Dufer has been in this town for about two years, first coming here as a cook for Will Brothers, then later he opened a shop himself. CANBY THEATER REMODELED. CANBY, Ore., June 11. The place has been repainted. - CANBY HOP MAN DIES. CANBY, Ore., June 10. The funeral of Henry S. Yergen. a prominent hop grower of this vicinity, took place to day. Interment was In Buttevllle cemetery. Besides hlg widow he leaveg one sis ter. Mrs. Swan, of Portland, and four brothers, George and Fred Yergen, of Aurora? A. D. Yergen, of East Butte vllle, and Frank E. Yergen. of Hub bard. CANBY MASONS VISIT. CANBY, Ore.. June 10. (Special) About thirty of the local Masons at tended the Woodburn lodge last night. They went from here In machines and returned after the meeting was over. Mr. and Mrs. Gage, accompanied by their son, John, who drove the car, returned to Stafford on Thursday. June 10. after a month's stay at Nestueea and other parts of Tillamook county. They found the road over the moun tains better than expected. They were stalled in a mud hole only twice, then Just beyond Sherwood, coming down' a hill found a very had four or five! rods, three cars going one way, an.l, four the other, all stuck in the mud. I Ladies and children all out by the side of the road, and one said, "How are we ever to get up that aw fill hill, ami we've all got our best hIi jcs on, and no , rubbers?" With all the stops and set backs the j trip was made in ten and onehnlf hours, a distance of 87 miles by the i speedometer. Arriving at home we found some changes, school had closed with a very successful basket social, first Albert, then Will Ellcgsen, cous ins, had got married, had a charvari,1 and settled down. Grace and Otto Pomperine were the happy parents of1 a baby boy, and Mr. Barstow and Mrs.) Anna Metcher Schulpus had died and,1 were buried In the family lots in Staf- ford cemetery, both having died In i Portland. Mr. Barstow was an inmate' of the Odd Fellows' Home for a num-j her of years, but formerly lived on ; the road to Wilsonville, while Mrs. I Schulpus came to Stafford when a I young girl, and her home until her mar-, riage was on the farm now owned by' William Schatz. 1 ! We were also sorry to hear that Mrs. Ed Sharp had underwent a seri ous operation at the hospital, but have not heard the particulars as yet.
