PLANS ARE LAID FOR DIGGER COUNTY FAIR "Prom present appearances the op ening of the coming Clackamas Coun ty fair will be the biggest, the best and most up-to-date fair ever held in this county. Arrangements have been made with the railroad lines through this part of the state, both steam and electric, so as to handle the large crowds at special rates", said Mr. M. Lee, secretary of the fair associa tion. "The new poultry barn is one or the most modern buildings of its kind In the northwest, having every fea ture that could make for better sani tation and light as well as for com fort of the visitors. The building is 24x125 feet and has a large and well- lighted gallery running the entire length. Exchange Planned Another welcome feature will be a private office for poultry breeders. where, it Is planned, tnose interested in the fouls will buy, sell, and ex change. Another department is the enlarging of the swine barn which will now hold many more exhibits. "Plans are being perfected for 'Ger man day, on September 25, which will be one of the busiest of the four. A special train will be run from Silver ton to Mount Angel and special fea tures, such as a championship base ball game between Mount Angel and Canby and a free for all pace, will be held. "Many entries have been aade and it is thought that soms of the build ings will be far too small. Last Sat urday there were enough poultry ex hibits to fill the old poultry building and from present Indications thi new one will be crowded. 6.00 Gresham seems to be suffering from a "wave of crime". According to the Outlook of that place, two burglaries were reported last Sunday and Mon day evning an attempt was made to steal Mrs. Max Schneider's auto.
