ESTACADA George Ely, who waa at one time a merchant at Currlnavllle, and prominent In local politic, died last Wednesday of fever at Io Angeles, ('!.. where hs had resided for th past five years. The funeral rvlcea were held at the Kstacada M. E. church Sunday under the auspice of the Odd Follows lodge, of which ha was a charter member, and the first treasurer. He was a past grand. Rev. Mr. Darling preached the er mon. He leaves a wife, a brother, and five sisters to mourn hi loss. The church was Oiled with neighbor and friends. Despite the rain a fair slsod crowd gathered In the afternoon at the amusement park of the Garfield coun try club. A business meeting . was held In the morning. O. T. Hunt wa re-eiected president of the club for the ensuing year. The club decided to build a Urge addition to the hall on the grounds, 10 as to bavs an aud itorium and to extend the Boor spacs of the dancing pavilion. The club has three "no's" "No boose, no rowdyism, no Sunday dances." The afternoon and evening were spent In dancing, and everyone had a pleasant lime. County Commlsloner W. It. Mat. toon attended the Garfield country club picnic Saturday. The Inrgeat shipment of hogs ever hipped from Kstacada were shipped by J. C. Dun Friday.
