And the Lodge people are glad to welcome home Mr. and Mrs. Emmons, Mr. and Mr.. T. J. 8pooner. Mr. and Mrs. C. L Smith and Mr and Mra. Welch. A number of new fami lies have come, also, among them Mr. and Mra. Pierce, M. and Mrs. Dono hue, and Mr. and Mra. Umbdenstock, tho latter expecting to build a nice home on hfa property. The McCaull family has leased the Vyvyan Dent cottage, and came out on Monday. Mr.. Olive Ford, of Sunnyside, vis ited at the home of her parent? on Friday. Mr. P. D. Newell liaa indeed been very unfortuntte with horaea this spring. About a month ago one of hla most valuable ones strayed away. It waa traced ne.irly to Portland, but nothing further has been heard of It. On Sunday, April 2. two other horses belonging to Mr. Newell, got out of the pasture, and as yet have been un able to find thorn. Mr. Newell haa of fered a reward for Information for one or all. They are described aa follows: One light sorrel pony, branded O on flank, weight 700 pounds; one chest nut aorrel gelding, with one right hind foot white, weight 1500 pounds; one bav gelding, with black poltits, weight 1300 pounds. It Is a vacuum dril ler of Mr. Buelow's own patent, for which he hag refund a large sum. It proves to be the very thing for dril ling through sand or gravel. Mrs. F. C. Rice made a trip to New Uorg on Saturday, where she spent the day with her son. Mrs. dlugh Roberts haa been mak ing dairy trips to Portland to receive treatment from Dr. F. F.
