Wetzler was in Oregon City Friday on business. The Mothers and Teachers Club will meet Thursday, March 23d, at the school. A debate by the high school pupils will be the programme. Question: Resolved Foreign Immi gration Should be Futher Restricted. A ball ground for the boys will be discussed also. Linden Circle W. of W. will give a grand ball, March 25th, In city hall. The Boys Club now has 38 mem bers and the City Council donated the use of the upper hall for the classes when Prof. Gens is teaching. This favor Is appreciated by the club workers. Two full blocks of cement walks have been laid this week in Main street, also in front of Mrs. Dora Quant's place. Mayor Brownell and Attorney Stipp of Oregon City, attended the coun cil meeting Tuesday evening. The City Council met Tuesday morning. Petitions for Harrison St. were presented and resolutions ordered posted. Washington St. is to have 16 foot macadamized grade, full width and six foot side walks. A petition was presented for the improvement of the intersection of Scott St.. also for a driuKing loun-. tain was referred to the street com- mittee. A new typewriter was pur- chased for the City Recorder. The petition ior me uani.-uic i the Mt. Hood railway ana poei company was ordered posted. The Commercial Club met Friday evening. Reports of committees were read and referred to the city secretary. Treasurer's report was read and accepted. Discussion on changing the meeting night will come up at the next regular meet ing. Milwaukee Grange will hold an all day meeting Saturday, March 18th. A St. Patrick programme will be given, and the discussion of early garden making. Dinner will be served at noon. E Morand. who died Saturday, was buried Monday from the family resi dence in Qnincy addition. The little Italian boy who stopped on the Penni place (Buggelli) by name, who died in Dr. Townley's office, was buried Wednesday morn ing from the Penni place. Unfor tunately he fell in the mill pond back of Warren Knight's place and attended school all day with his wet clothing on and supposedly died of pneumonia. He was operated on for congestion of the lungs, but of no avail. Inspector E. C. The choir and boys of the Glad stone church are rehearsing for a Blackface Jubilee. A. F. Parker is drilling the performers C. The Webbs, of Portland, under the auspices of Gideon's Band, will Rive an evening's entertainment at Glad stone Friday evening. The program will consist of moving pictures and illustrated lectures and songs. A good time is assured. JENNINGS LODGE. Master Clyde Jones will act as agent for the Morning Enterprise. We know many will be pleased to have a Clackamas County daily left at their homes each morning. Mr. Williams, who recently pur chased a number of lots in the I. J. Morris tract, came out from Portland on Sunday. Mrs. Ed Roethe Is much Improved and is able to be about a greater part of the time. Mr. and Mrs. L. Wilcox and family spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. Holdon.of Sellwood. Mr. Nelson, the road supervisor of this district, is doing some good work on the County Road at this place. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Morse are visit ing in Salem this week. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Clough left by boat for New berg on Tuesday. Mr. Clough has disposed of his property Interests here and will visit with his friends a month at Newberg, while they are deciding on a permanent location. Sunday, March 19th. quarterly meeting will be held at Grace Chapel. Rev. Hornschuh. the presiding elder, will preach. The last quarterly con ference of the year will be held at the Evangelical Memorial Church in Portland on Friday evening. Mr. Isiah Shenefleld will be the delegate from here. The Sunday school Is held at 2 P. M. preceding the preaching service. On Sunday evening the tem perance program will be given, to which all are cordially Invited. The Pastime Club, of Meldrum, held its regular meeting at the home of Mrs. Powers, on Monday afternoon. March 13th. The president.
