Notwithstanding the bitter fight tnde akainst Mr Brownell he had his resolutions favoring the selec tion cf Senator Mitchell adopted, also one instructing the delegation to vote forBinger Herman for con gress, besides being instrumental in naming the entire county ticket. The anti-Brownell faction were beaten but did not fully realize the fact until the convention was over. The "funny" part ot the business was that while the oppoaiton wat fighting Mr Brownell as an active candidate for tbe congressional delegation hia object waB to get the endorsement of the convention for Mitchell instead of Dolph.
