Upton Monday after noon. Warren Brown has gone to Port land to attend the County Clerk's convention. Chester Evans left recently for Ore gon City. Miss Nora Klser has gone to Spray where she will teach school. Mr. and Mrs. Edward McFarland of Paulina were visitors here last week end. Cecil Houston has gone to Ante lope where his parents are spending the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ledtord and children were in Saturday from their ranch at Poat. Mr. and Mrs. Chaa. Rea entertained Tues day with a luncheon in honor of her mother, Mrs. Barnes of Spokane. A mistake was made in the war drlie list last week. Mrs. B. F. Jones contribution was 3.50 instead of $1. J. R. Harvey returned Monday from Springfield, where he attended the funeral of his son, J. Roy Harvey. The Ladies' Book Review Club will meet at the home of Mra. Robert Douglas Saturday, December 14, at 2:00 p. m. Dr. A. M. Petty of the Ameri can Baptist Missionary Coclety will preach at the Baptist church Sunday evening at 7:30. Mrs. Joe Speechley baa returned from Portland and will remain here until her husband is released from the Spruce Division. Mrs. E. S. Robe entertained with a dinner dance at the Prineville hotel Friday evening. This is the first of a series of dinner dances to be given at the hotel this winter. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Foster at Powell Butte, Saturday. Mrs. Foster was formerly Ila Charl ton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Charlton of Powell Butte. D. H.
