A number of Prineville young people attended the dance given at the Powell Butte Community Hall, Friday evening. Mrs. W. H. Belknap returned Sunday from Terrebonne where she has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daw. v Miss Irene Barnes spent a few days in Prineville this week. Miss Barnes is stenographer for D. H. Peoples in Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hyde ar rived in Prineville, Tuesday from Cottonwood, Idaho,, and will remain here permanently. Lewis Standclift arrived In the city Tuesday from Barnes and is visiting at the borne of his sister, Mrs. M. R. Biggs. Omer Claypool returned from Portland yesterday morning, where he has been attending the Retail Grocers' meeting. H. C. Oliver, Traveling Passenger Agent for the 0. W. R. & N., is in the city today. S. L. Wiggins is in Washington, D. C. Mrs. Nora Thomason returned Sunday from White Fish Lake, Al berta, Canada, where she has been for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Shattuck were in Madras last Friday evening and attended the institution of a Re bekah lodge at that place. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Schafer ar rived in the city this morning from Moro, and are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Boone. Leland Casey was in Prineville Monday from Powell Butte. The last number of the Lecture Course will be given at the Club Hall tomorrow evening by Arthur Walwyn Evans, the Welsh wit and humorist. Millard Elkins returned to Prine ville yesterday morning. The subject of his address was conditions at Camp Lewis, where he hat been for the past six weeks. He described in his Intensely In teresting manner, the arrangement of the training camp, and the effi cient way in which everything is car ried on. He also spoke of the demo cratic spirit which prevails between officers and privates.
