L. Pyntfs dooryard Friday. He tore they could secure a gun, it had bitten their dog and passed on down the road leading to the school house. Several men pursued the animal hut failed to kill It. Mrs. Francis J. Clurke purchased a five passenger Overland car In Redmond recently. Bert Powell returned from Port land where he was called on account of his mother's Illness Will Ferry, Albert Shultl and F. M. Post were. In Prineville Wednes day. Messrs. Leslie Clarke and Herbert Clark each purchased a flue team of horses the first of the week. Mr. Gwinn, of Powell Butte, has sold his alfalfa hay to J. N. William son and Is delivering it at William son's ranch at Alfalfa. The Farm Loan Association held a meeting with Its members In the lower district at the Shepard school house Wednesday evening. Over one hundred guests attended the dance at M. L. Pyatt's Saturday evening. Mrs. W. M. Ferry Is spending a few days in Bend. The Alfalfa, Powell Butte, Red mond telephone line is all completed and is a line we are jiiHtly proud of. Mr. and Mrs. Palmlund have re turned to their home in Bend after several months' stay with M. L. Pyatt's. Forty members of the 500 club met with Mr. and Mrs. Mbert Sliultz Thursday evening. Isaac Thomas and wife, of La monta, spent Saturday night and Sunday visiting at the home of J. !E. Newbill. Mr. and Mrs. A. Cubit left Mon day for The Dalles hospital where !Mrs. Cubit will be under the care of a physician. Mrs. Cubit has been ailing for some time but it was not ; until recently she was known to be dangerously ill. , N. E. and C. V. Newbill went to Prineville Sunday. C. A. He took the place of Wm. French who re cently resigned. $1.50 per day is likely to be the going wage for farm laborers this! spring. H. F. Chitwood is the new hired man at Fogle's ranch. N. E. Newbill recently purchased 16 head of cattle from J. P. Mont gomery. Friday morning there was about two inches of snow on the ground and spring seems as far away as ever. Henry Parsons made a business trip to his farm in this community Tuesday. Mr, Knickerbocker sold 5 tons of hay to Edgar Parsons for $10 per ton. Mrs. Norcott, of Tumalo, gave a farewell dinner Sunday for the Gil- let family, 38 being present. Mrs. James Scoggln is very ill with neuralgia and la grippe. Mr. and Mrs. Melton and Miss Huston spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Scoggln.
