Dale Jones is In Prineville visit ing friends this week from Colville, Washington, where he 's interested in a flour mill. Rev. W. L. Van Nuys was called to Paulina Monday to conduct the funeral of J. O. Garner who died in Portland last Friday. Born on February 9 to Mr. and Mrs. Guy O. Smith at Salem, Oregon, a son. Mrs. Smith is well known here as Theresa Cassidy. Mrs. Malinda A. Robinson was called to Lamonta Monday by a message announcing the serious Ill ness of her sister, Mis. James R. Bennett. Mrs. Robinson returned home Tuesday and has hopes for hor sister's recovery, although physi cians say the patient's condition is very critical. We have a communication from R. A. Blanchard stating that a meeting will be held in this city on the evening of February 27 for the purpose of presenting to the farmers of this vicinity some matters con nected with the office ot the county agriculturist which would tend to become of assistance to them. The time and place of the meeting is not stated. Thursday, March 1st, the , Red mond Dramatic Club, under the direction of Harry Wilson, will pre sent a high class vaudeville perform ance at the Powell Butte Commun ity Hall. There will be a slight change in the program that was given in Redmond about a week ago. New scenery has been installed and the work on the stage completed. Ivy was pliiced under $100 bonds to appear before the grand Jury the first of the week. He was charged with pointing a gun at Isaac New and Jessie U. Thayer. All the parties live at Dry Lake. A meeting of the stockholders of the old Central Oregon Fair Associa tion was held In tills city yesterday nt which time the name of the fair waa formally changed to tlio Oregon Interstate Fair and the board waa authorised to reincorporate In tba sum of $10,000.
