Reuben Booten was in the city on business yesterday. Marion Taylor was in the city on business the last of the week. J. Warren Crooks has been eon fined to his home with lagripue this week. . Roscoe Guard, of Jefferson County, was a business visitor on Monday. Alex Rickman was in Frineville from his ranch near Roberts last Friday on business. Herman Winans left this morning for Walla Walla and will probably spend the winter in Washington. Mrs. W. R. Pollard left Tuesday for Bend where she will make her home with her son. Otis Logan. Levi Knorr, of Lamonta, and Matilda Rammin were married in this city by Judge Bowman on Sat urday last. Miss Statira Biggs left the first of the week for Beilingham, Wash ington, where she will spend the winter. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Lyons, of Crescent, were in the city the last of the week visiting relatives and friends. Plan now to attend the Prine- ville-Burns football game on the local field on the afternoon of Thanksgiving day. , Don't forget the Baptist LadiPS Aid bazaar on December 9th. Kennard has a badly bruised and sprained right arm as the result of a kick from the eranky end of his Ford "bug." B. F. Shepherd, of Barnes, was in the city yesterday on business. Mr. Shepherd raises registered Short Horn cattle and sells bulls to stockmen in many parts of the country. See his ad elsewhere in this issue. Don't forget the High School play tonight! A birthday party which was at tended by about thirty guests, was given at the home of Mrs. H. P. Belnkap in her honor yesterday. The affair was a surprise. Every one reports an enjoyable time. The annual Thanksgiving ball which is given by the Knights of Pythias each year, will bs held on Thursday evening at the Com mercial Club. Every Knight a floor manager. This is always the biggest thing of its kind for the year. Don't miss it. A recital, given by the pupils of Professor Thos. J. Hill, on Friday evening last, was a very successful affair. There are 36 pupils in the class and the work done by them is excellent. A replevin case in which Floyd Houston brought action to recover a mare and colt alleged to have been his - property from Mrs. Elsie Bailey was tried in Judge Bow man's court on Friday and Satur day of last week. A number of witnesses were examined and the property turned over to Mr. Hous ton by the jury.
