Manager R. L. Sehee visited the fairs at Condon, The Dalles and Pendleton last week, on a final trip to get ideas for the big fair that is on here. Jas. Robinson and family visited in the city over Sunday on their return to Medford. Mr. Robinson has been tendered a flattering proposition by the Walther-Williams Company at The Dalles and might move to that place. Items of interest from friends both in and out of the city h'ave been received at this office too late for publication in the current issue several times recently. What is good news this week, is ancient history next, and for that reason they may not appear at all. Many thanks for the items and try to get them to us before Wednesday next I time. At a meeting of Lyceum and Chau tauqua managers which is being held in Chicago, and which is be ing attended by all the big men in that work in the United States, J. B. Hurd, Mr. White and Mr. El lison, all of whom are more or less known here, are' in attendance. The Chicago Herald on Monday morning printed a group photo graph containing the pictures of the three men. A Well is being drilled by Fred Hoelscher on his ranch north of Prinevillc. It is situated about one half mile east of the residence, and has reached a depth of 335 feet, the greater part of the dis tance being solid rock. Charles Chaplin, the comedian whose weekly stipend is well in excess of the modest sum of ten thousand dcllars appears tonight in "The Woman," in which he does a clever bit of impersonation, 'two animated cartoons by Raoule Barre, a scenic and a jungle zoo picture are additional numbers. Friday the 1915 Pendleton Round Up Pictures will be shown. These pictures eclipse any previously made at this world famous show not evf n excepting those just com pleted this year. The most difficult feats in riding, roping, tying, bull dogging and racing are shown by the camera far better than the in dividual would have seen from the grandstand, for in many instances the camera is but a scant six feet from the livliest kind of "action." Saturday lour single reel pictures are scheduled, all of them good, especially "Some Boxer," with Billie Reeves, which is a lively farce on the boxing game. On Sunday the five-part Triangle play, "The Deciple,," portrayed by Wm. S. Hart, will be screened. This is a western play, the story of a fighting parson and is filled with comedy and pathos, thrills and heart throbs. Of it tha New York Press says: "It is something to see a two fisted minister hold a whole mining camp at bay and at the same time practice his holier office."
