James Withycombe, Governor of Oregon REDMOND PLAY BY LADIES ANNEX JUNE 16 Fiiday night, June 16 the Redmond Dramatic Club will pre sent the unusual drama, "Kuy Bias," at the- Commercial Club Hall in this city. The plays that have been brought to Prineville by those people in the past have been of the highest order and when they tell us that this will be the master production of the lot we can expect something worth while. The plot is laid among the knighthood and castles of historic Spain, during the opening of the seventeenth century, when Charles 11 was desperately struggling to keen Louis XIV of France from se curing the succession of the Spanish crown to the House of Bourbon. The costumes used in the pro duction are the result of an ex haustive search among the art treasures and antiques throughout the West for the certain modes and creations particularly identified with the three scenes portrayed in the American translation of the masterpiece. Tho management informs us that the costumes which will be used are worth in the aggregate the sum of ten thousand dollars and some of the capes which will be displayed date back from the seventeenth century and are mount- e 1 with trimmings of native gold and Flemish laces that have stood the test of time for the past four centuries. The task of procuring and ar ranging the costumes so that each minute detail will be in strict har mony and accord with the fittings of the original production ht-s been assigned to'Mrs. I. L. Osborn and the management of the Club is over enthusiastic in its praise for the success of her untiring efforts for the past four weeks. All scenery which will be used has been secured specially for the production and is in strict harmony with the grandeur and magnifi cence of the costumes to be display ed. The beautiful scene laid in tne Castle of Charles II was se cured at a cost of $500. Special arrangement has been made to present the one-act come dy-farce, "The Dress Rehearsal," with Harry P. WiNon and Miss Ruth Pettigrew in the leading rjles, which will suffice in itself ti assure thirty laughs a minute.
