Street and Road Improvement Started Workmen started a few days ago on the extension of Third sin-el on the east, and opening of the. Hardin road, which will connect the end of the street with the county roads in both Ihe north and the south sides of the Oehoeo valley, A grader started to work this morning, grading the roadway, and lutcr the street will bt- graded in the same manner, to connect with the road. This is an Improvement which has long been needed, and one that will, be a great convenience, not only to , the city, but to the stock men who are compelled to drive their stock through the streets in order to get from one county road to another in the movement of stock. . t ..J Rural Free' Delivery j , Petitions Forwarded People living on the Oehoeo Irri-, gation District project will be supv ; plied with a rural free delivery ; from this city shortly. The matter, which has been dis cussed at various times for several months past, was taken up recently by the local commercial clubhand petitions have been circulated throughout the district, with the , result that 114 names were secured for a route about 28 miles in length. The' route starts at the tdge of this city, will follow the Ochoco east for about four miles, will then follow a northwesterly course until the McKay is reached at the Pitch er place, then following the county rod to the Ruthficld place, return ing to Frineville by Wm. Mason's and the river route. Every request of the department has been complied with and it is thought that there will be no delay in getting the route into operation. This City ! T. F.
