A very pleasant! evening was spent, the crowning event of which was a dinner that was prepared .largely by Mr. Hill himself, i The ladies of the Presbyterian church have secured the services of Miss Charlotte Hume, who will di rect a "Tom Thumb wedding," to be given at the Commerical club hall tomorrow evening. There will be (i() local children under ten years of age, the bride and groom being only four years of age. Miss Hume carries ostumes for the entire cast. Come and tee a society wedding of midgets. Morris and Mrs. Morris re turned yesterday from Portland where they spent the winter. They were accompanied by Mrs. Morris'a father, George Rowel!. The Club Hall was the scene of a very jolly entertainment Saturday evening, whea Mr and Mrs. Barnes were host t their local friends and a party of guests from Bend. Those not emgaged in dancing, found enjoyment in card playing. Prineville has not seen, for some time the number of beautiful even ing gowns which were ' in evidence among the ladies Among those present from Bend were theHrooks, Stanleys and Skuses. About a hundred young people cnjoyiil the Christian Endoavur t wial given in the K. of P. hall last Friday night by the Y. P. S. C. E of the Christian Church. The evening was spent in an indour field meet, in which the young peo ple represented Prineville and Bend High Scholia and had contests of various kinds suitable for indoor work. It is needless to say that the Crook County High was successful in winning the most points. This side was captained by Zeke llendickson. The other side by K. V. Randall. Following a short business session in which the society showed gains in membership and interest, refresh ments of Fandwiches, coffee and cocoa were served in the banquet room. Everyone pruimunccd it a most enjoyable evening. Pains are on foot for a similar good time St. Patrick's Day. For the last half year, the upper grades of the public schools have been busy . during their music periods working , on an operetta entitled. "The Merry Milk Maids." This is a play usually given by grown people and in every . sense of the word is a strictly enjoyable, wide awake act. A week from next Saturday evening this is to be pre sented at the Commercial Club Hall. It is entirely under the direction and represents the work of Miss Bilyeu, during her music period with this class. Professor Hill will J accompany at the piano.
