Walker returned the ; last of the week from her vacation. School opens next Monday morn ing. Time to get out the books and slate. There will be services at the Catho lic church in this city Sunday morn ing, at 11 o'clock. .Mr. and Mrs. T. F. McCallister were in the city the first of the week on business. Miss. Blanche Wilson left Sunay for Terrebonne w here she will teach school during the winter. Mrs. George Reams and little daughter are spending the week at the Cove with Mrs. Ream's brother. , J. E. Lacroj'and Miss Pearl Iiate !son, formerly of Lamonta, were married at Vancouver, Washington on September 1. ' W. J. Wright returned the first of the week from Linn county where he has been for the past several ; wet ks. j E. E. Evans and family returned 'the lat of the week from Redmond where they have been spending the summer. N. II. Elliott and wife and daughter were in the city Monday from Terrebonne. Miss Elliott will attend school here again this winter. V. A. Forbes was in Prineville from Pend the first of the week. There was a party at the Cornett resilience Monday evening which was attended by a large number of the young people of the tity. Wilfred Belknap left yesterday evening for Portland. He will be joined by his wife and Miss Beatrice Johnson tomorrow, and the party will proceed to St. Louis where Mi.v; Johnson and Wilfred will attend school this winter. The Oregon Trunk railway hits announced a special rate of a fare and a third from all points as far north as Granddailes to the county fair here next month. Even the rail- roads realize that it will be the big gest and best fair yet. Little Mable Gee, the three months old daughterof Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Gee, died at the family home on Combs Flat on September 3. The funeral was held in this city on the following day and burial was had at the I. 0. 0. F. cemetery. Circuit court will convene next ! Monday. His parole was j promptly annulled by the Judge, and Sheriff Knox landed the prisoner in the state penitentury at Salem on Monady.
