Myers of the Prineville public schools, who was elected county school superintendent at the last election, was recently of fered the position of assistant state superintendent of school in Wash ington. Mr. Myers was identified with the educational work in Wash Suplee, a very pretty wedding took ington for several years, having place when Jess W. Kissler were Prineville visitors Monday where they had official business. The county surveyor and staff are busy in this locality this week, so also are the county road viewers. Mrs. A. W. Bayn went to Prine ville luesiuy. brie was accom panied home by her daughters, Misses Gladys nnd Hazel, who will visit home folks for a few days The cirls are attending school in Prineville. S. I), and W. S. Mustard are pull ing trees on the Jack Ferguson runch this week. Harold Cook and sister, Miss Lucile, the latter a student in the Crook County High School, visited parents and friends a couple of days last week. J. L. Gibson recently traded prop erty in Coeur d'Alene, Iduho, for a forty-acre farm near Laidlaw. Mr. Gibson expects to sell or rent this property as he will still continue to live on his Powell Butte farm. Norman Davis came up from Portland lust week and will make his future home with H. K. Allen. Young Davis is an orphan boy and is fortunate in a good home with ,Mr. Allen. Leland Cssey loaded a car of wheat for shipment to Portland last week. J. T. Dourty of Prineville and Mrs. "William Nanny of Des , chutes were Sunday guesus at the Allen Willcoxen home. Will Brown was a Prineville vis itor Friday. L, H. Rohde recently sold his en tire crop of hay to Prineville sheep men. The hay will be fed on the place. Our winter so far has been so light as to make stock feeding un necessary except to milk Btock. This would indicate that there will le plenty of hay in this section for all local demands. J. R. Knox and wife of Post are in town. Mrs. Isom Cleek returned from The Dalles Saturday. Ed N. White of Spokane is in Prineville visiting friends. C. A. Wail and Peter Lehman of Roberta were in town thi week. Mr. Geo. Hayes of Vale is visit ing her sister, Mrs. M. R. Biggs. Paul Held and F. Burtchlay of Held are registered at the Oregon. Geo. A. MacMuIlen, W. F. Rich- tcr and Frank Creasey are in from Post attending court. D. G. Burdick, 0. C. Pierce and A. J. McKenzie of Metolius are at tending court this week. Mrs. M, Miller of California, is in Prineville visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Young. Carl N. Ehret. W. H. Anderson, G. A. McFarlane and J. S. Wilcox were in from Redmond Monday. Owing to the revival meetings the Ladies' Aid Society of the Bap tist church will not hold their bazaar at present but will have 1 few articles on sale at Mr. Elites' Mr. and Mr. A. H. Hodson gave a pleasant stag party to number of friends Tuesday evening. Mr. Hodson is deputy forest supervisor here. Our premium page has been crowded out this week. It will ap pear again next week. Keep up the good work. You have two more week in which to. rustle for names. The financial statements of the Prineville banks, which we publish this week, make an excellent show ing for this time of the year. Their combined resources are three quarter of a million. Over half a million dollars are on deposit. At the Methodist church Sab bath school at 10 a. m. and preach ing at 11a. m. Epworth League at 6:30, preaching at 7:30. Dr. Fox has been giving a series of excellent lectures to the students of the high school on the subject, "The Law of Health." The football season has closed and the boys are now looking for new worlds to conquor. They will begin basketball at once. The team will be composed of new material almost entirely but we have lots of that and' we fully expect another championship team. The second period of this semes ter has closed and the reports all made out. The grades are not all that might be desired. There is a lack of seriousness or determined effort on the part of several of the students that makes satisfactory work almost impossible. Those receiving "A" in every thing are: Freshmen Maude Bren nen, Joe Erickson, Thurman Clay pool, Adelia Cox, Forrest Erickson, Edna Merritt, Fred Noble, Fred Rice, Alma Johnson. Sophomores MVbel Slayton, Naomi Thomas. Juniors Lucile Cooke, Elmer Thomas. Seniors Clarence Bixby, Theresa Bundy, Leola Estes, Roland McCallister, Adolphus Myers, Robt. Osborn.
