i 'A. Crook County Journal COUNTY OFFICIAL PAPER. THURSDAY, SEPT. 12, 1907 Subscription f 1 .50 a year. Funeral of Guy E. Moore The funeral of Guy E. Moore, followed by the cremation of his body together with that of his father M. Moore, who died some time age, wag held yesterday after noon at the chapel of the Portland Crematorium, in the presence of a large number of relatives, friends of the family and students of the Oregon Agricultural College, of which the younger Moore was a graduate. Professor E. II. Lake and Professor J. B. Horner repre sented the faculty of the college at the services. Floral tributes were received from many sources and the casket was half buried in flowers, many of which were from the student of the college and the young man's former classmates. Mrs. Chestr L. Proe'w-tel read the prayer at the opening of the services. Professor Lake, of the Oregon Agricultural College, came forward and paid a high tribute to the memory of Guy Moore. He closed by decorating the casket with the colors of the college, which Professor Lake said had been well earned by the dead student. Rev. Frank F. Moore, who had been closely associated with Guy Moore, both at Corvallis and in Chicago, delivered an address re viewicg the life of the young man and giving words of consolation to the sorrowing relatives. Mr. Moore spoke of the remarkable in fluence Guy Moore had exerted on his fellow students while attend ing the Agricultural College and said his example had been a con stant stimulant to his classmates, tiding over many a discouraged student. This address was followed by the reading of the ritual of the A. 0. U. W. by Master Workman K. Benvie and Past Master J. II. Zane, of .Fidelity Lodge No. 4. Then followed the double crema tion of the bodies of the father and son. The pallbearers, all of whom were classmates of Guy Moore, were Chester L. Proebstel, A. Sid ney Wells, Horace C. Brodie, J. C. Bu rns, A. Horton and J, C. Rine hart. It was the wish of the elder Moore that his body should he cremated, hence it was cecMed that his body should lie burned at the same time the corpse of his son was reduced to ashes. Oregonian.
