Wiley Frakes is quite caused by abcess of the gums. A very simple but lmpresslro home wedding was that on Sunday at high noon, when Miss Veda Mnr- guorlto Walto was married to Mr. Elvin Rands, the ceeony being per formed by Rev. George C. Todd, pastor of the M. E. church in Fruit land, using the English ring cere mony. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. II. C. Waite. C. H. Sargent, while at church Sunday evening had the misfortune to have his Willys-Knight car taken by someone who used up several gallons of gas for a joy ride. -The (next morning Mr. Sargent found the car In tho lumber yard with the key gone. Sunday tbe Idaho-Oregon Knights of Columbus annual picnic was held at the home of Mrs. Frances Hong geder on Pennsylvania avenue south of Frultland. Thoro were about 360 present who made merry the whole day. Saturday evening a deal was closed whereby Henry Reins pur chased from tho John Bosch estate forty acres on tho bench two miles More Accomodations Noicd. The main difficulty with regard to Increasing shipments at the pres ent time Is not lack of oie of tho same of evon better grade, but ac commodations for tho largor crew required. As soon as camp accom modations are increased, It Is intend ed to increase tho force and bring the output up to a 40-ton car per day. Incidentally, it should not be forgotten that the oro being shipped was Just the ordinary stuff knocked down as development proceeded. With a crow of men, and operating and overhead charges amounting to ?260 per day, with an output net ting at least $1000 per day from one-car shipments, the property would appear, at a conservative es timate, capable of netting tho com pany $750 per day, or $22,500 per month, or roughly about 15 per cent of tho capitalization per month. On that hot August morning the sun bent down mercilessly on the little vll Inge. 1'he occasional passing carriage stirred up clouds of dust that settled on the dried, brown nnd already thick ly coated grass und trees. Only the whirr of the locust broke the heavy Bllence. Not the tiniest white cloud In the blazing blue sky promised relief from the Intolerable wenther. At the click of tho gate and the Fovnd of a quick step on the brick path, Miss Elizabeth Ann pushed her spectacles up from the Up of her nose and waited for her visitor to appear around the corner of the little porch, closed In with honeysuckle vines, whose heavy odor mnde the atmos phere more oppressive. ."Good morning, Miss Emmons," said the cheery voice of a young map, tnl) and fair, bis well-built figure showing to splendid ndvnntnge In the service mil form of a major. "Why, Robbie Andrews! Bless my soul I We didn't expect you back for at least a month yet. Bless my soul I nilznbeth, Elizabeth Ann I" she called, as she turned In the doorway. " es, auntie." Then as she saw tho ninn, "Bob I" In a second she was Id tils arms laughing, sobbing, crying, aV In the Mine breath. "Hob, 1 can't believe it's true beck oh I I can scarcely believe It's you." As the two lovers, arm In arm, went down from the little porch and over to the old grape arbor. MUs Eltznbeth Ann resumed her sent nnd her knit ting behind the honeysuckle vines. For a few moni'.'iitH she worked quietly and steadily; then, as the tears, which stubbornly refused to be kept back, blinded her vision and dropped on her gnarled, wrinkled fingers, she laid down her needles nnd wep't softly and tremulously. Fifty-eight years ugo a splendid, stalwart young soldier had opened the gate of tho garden, stepped quickly up the path onto the porch, nnd greeted a silver-haired old lady who was knitting behind the honeysuckle fines. "Elizabeth, Elizabeth Ann," she had culled, stepping to the door. "Yes, auntie coming." It was she, Miss Elizabeth Ann, who, in her quaint hoop-skirt, with her black hair arranged smoothly In braids around her ears, had stepped out shy ly to greet her lover, Bobble Andrews' ancle. Leaving a dear old silver haired lady bitting behind the honey suckle vines, together they had gone down from the little porch Into the garden to the grape arbor. Then Elizabeth Ann bad walked down the brick path with hlra, and when the gate had clicked und he started up the village street,. she wait ed to wnvo her handkerchief ns ho turned back. John Andrews was answering his country's call. Theirs was a parting the final parting he had not coma back to her as had Bob to little Eliz abeth Ann. Four Color Are New.
