He has been confined to his bed several days. Mrs. McOonnell entertained at dinner Sunday Mr. and Mrs. St.-ut. Arthur and Valley Col well and Miss Moyer. J. M. Koyston received a tele gram Monday morning from Pennsylvania, bearing the sad news of his mother's death. She died suddenly that morning. He left the same day to attend ber funeral. bfl The Queen Esther circle met at the home of Mis. P. N. Yock ey Saturday afternoon, when they made plans to give a play June 10. Mr. and Mrs. Tuney left the first of the week for their home in Salt Lake. The Sunday school of the M. E. church voted Sunday morn ing to have a Sunday school pic nic the Fourth of July. Mamie Bayer, who has been teaching at Bloomington, re turned home for her vacation. She will teach the same school next year. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and children returned Saturday from near Boise, where they went to attend the funeral of Mrs. Wil son's brother-in-law. Mr. Flark is remodeling his house, known as the Robin Crow Cott home, getting it ready for some of the teachers next year. Miss Aphii Robinson will re main a few weeks to put up fruit and place the heuse in readiness for the beginning of school next fall, before going to hor borne in Nampa. Henry Manser returned Fri day from Mexico, where he has been several weeks with his son who is proving up on land there. Mrs. Robinson met with a serious accident Sunday morn intr when she started down stairs to answer a phone call, sho became dizzy and fell, hurt ing her back in two places, ren dering ber unable to walk. Her friends hope for her a speedv recovery to perfect health. The Christian Endeavor busi ness meeting will be held Sat urday evening at the home of Velva Grimes. Mis Nellie Burnett is visiting 'Miss Athol Brown at Baker city. Mrs. Zilpha Puchert, of Den ver, Col., arrived last week to visit her mother, Mrs. Brockle hurst and sister Mrs. H. J. Pu chert. The result of the ball game between Fruitland and New Plymouth at New Plymouth on Thursday evening was 3 to 2 in favor of New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Grover are the parents of a baby girl, born last week. A. C. Pathael and M. Bras well caught a sturgeon in Snake river near Whitley Bottom last Friday night that weighed over 300 pounds. Ben Grover is through shear ing sheep at Midvale, where be has a shearing plant, and re turned homo Monday.
