A pumping plant ha. been completed to lift water from the Snake Kiver onto 1696 acres of Dead Ox Flat near Weiser. Mrs. Cordell, of Boise, who has been visiting friends here returned to her home Tuesday. Joe Plaisted, a wool buyer of Boise came down on business Wednesday. Mrs. (ieorge Vanderhoof and daughter, Eva left for the ranch near Vale Wednesday. Charles Becker, one of the wealthiest stockmen of Malheur county, with ranches in Indian Valley, near Vale, is in the city. Baker Democrat. L G. OLSEN GETS SECOND PEACE IN MOTOR CYCLE RACE L. O. Olsen wpnt to LaOrar.de and took part in the motor cycle race from LaCrnnde to Baker and return, 110 miles, over bad roads. Olsen came in second, one and a half minutes after the winner, in .''.14.. This shows Olsen is going to be among the winners in the races here dur ing the fair. J. R. FARRELL IS ARRESTED ON A CHARGE OE DIGAMY J. R.
