FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2016 THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 9 Local & Entertainment County Commissioners CONTINUED FROM PAGE 5 Lackey said that, if the changes the Daniels made were negative in nature, he could see the need to remand the request back to the Planning Commis- sion, but the changes don’t result in negative impacts. Bennett and Harvey agreed that the request includes signifi cant changes, and that the request, as presented at the session, wasn’t the original request the Planning Commis- sion approved. Harvey apologized to attendees, but he explained that the matter would necessarily have to be remanded back to the Planning Commis- sion. Bennett moved that the request be remanded, in order to address the modifi cations, and to give the Board a recommenda- tion, based on the modifi - cations. Kerns seconded the motion, and the motion carried. At this point, the majority of attendees exited the Commission Chambers (no further testi- mony was taken). Order No. 2016-157, Appointing Members To The Baker County Board Of Property Tax Appeals, was approved, with the addition of Bruce Nichols, as County Governing Pool Alternate, with a motion from Bennett, and a second from Kerns. The following were appointed, their terms set to expire on September 30, 2017: Bennett, repre- senting County Governing Pool; Laurene Chapman, representing Non-offi ce Holding Pool; Sharon Ban- nister, representing Non- offi ce Holding Pool; and Jerry Kincaid, representing Non-offi ce Holding Pool— Alternate. Bennett provided a Tri-County Weed Man- agement Area (TCWMA) update, which included the mention of the new TCWMA Director, Saman- tha Bernard. In ongo- ing discussions with the TCWMA, regarding issues with TCWMA structure and funding, Bennett said that Baker County has had, historically, a larger need for the services of the program, but the future of the TCWMA is uncertain. He said that Baker County is prepared to withdraw from the program, if is- sues are not resolved, but the funding allocated to the County would still be available, if this were to happen, though he desires for resolutions to the is- sues, rather than for the County to separate from the TCWMA. A Commission work session, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 9 a.m., is scheduled to include a discussion with represen- tatives of Blue Mountain Community College, and the 5J School District, regarding claims about is- sues with BMCC services, made by former BMCC Associate Vice President Peggy Hudson, during the last regular session, on Wednesday, September 21.
