To light a candle in memory of Wilbur, please visit: www.grayswest.com. — Obituaries — LaVesta Mae Swinyer Baker City, 1937-2016 LaVesta Mae Swinyer, 78, of Baker City died January 25, 2016 while at Meadowbrook Place. A public pot luck memorial service is scheduled for January 30, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the old Fireside, 2000 Well Street, in Baker City. LaVesta was born Febru- ary 28, 1937 to Walter T. Horton and Sara E. Churchill. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho and she and her parents lived on a farm in Parma until 1978, where she also raised her two children. She moved to Baker City in 1980 and married Charles Swinyer in 1984. In 1989, LaVesta went to cetified nursing assistant training and began provid- ing in home care until she retired. Her caring and nurturing personality was seen and adored by everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. LaVesta enjoyed quilt- ing, dancing, card games, board games, camping, fishing, gardening, sewing and caring for her cats. She was a member of the Eagles Club and the Har- vest Assembly of God. LaVesta is survived by her husband, Charles of Baker City. daughter Wendy L. Wall, son Monty Wall, daughter-in-law Wendy M. Wall, sister Madge Bern, brother-in- law’s, Robert Bern and Patrick Crampton, grand- daughters Cassandra Reed- er and Autumn Hanley, all of Baker City, Or. She also has a grandson, Alex Wall of Albany, Or. and a grand daughter, Crystal Pepper of Hermiston, Or. and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Walter Horton and mother Sara Churchill, a sister Ellen Crampton and a great grandchild, Tiana Colins. Amber Lenore Brown Baker City, 1977-2016 Amber Lenore Brown, 38, of Baker City passed away in her home January 17, 2016. A me- morial ser- vice will be held at 3:00 PM on May Amber 26, 2016 at Brown 1525 13th St., Baker City, OR. Amber was born in Portland, OR on May 26, 1977, where she lived and went to school. In 1993, she was in a bad car acci- dent that left her disabled. Amber moved to Eastern Oregon in 1998 and in both Durkee and Baker City until 2002 when she moved to Alaska. She lived in Nikiski and Kenai. She remained in Alaska for 12 years in 2014 she moved back to Baker City with her parents. Her two favorite things to do were to sing and to go shopping. She loved to spend money. Spending time outside by going for car rides was something she enjoyed very much. Amber also loved to be around her friends and she left behind two life- long friends, Jessica and Shanda. Both her family and friends loved Amber and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her mother Patricia Brown of Baker City, her stepfa- ther Raymond Ivanoff of Baker City, her sister Tricia Brown of Baker City, and her brother Joe Lassley of Portland. Amber is also survived by her Aunt Jan and Uncle Doug Aducci, her grandparents Joe and Dorothy Lawrence of Portland, as well as many cousins, nine nieces and three nephews. Jessie Irene Schuh Baker City, 1929-2016 Jessie Irene Schuh, 86, of Baker City passed away in her home Janu- ary 22, 2016. No Jessie services are Schuh planned at this time at the request of Jessie. Jessie was born in Castle Rock, Washington to Ben- jamin Chester Tubbs and Maude May (Mitchell) Tubbs on July 3, 1929. She had a lot of good neighbors and friends and was loved by everyone. Jessie cooked at the Oliver Home and St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. She also partici- pated in cooking for the Sherriff’s Posse Rides with Delmar Dixon. When she was not hard at work, she enjoyed visiting about the past, camping, fishing, and hunting with the family and her grandchildren. Jessie was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her daughter’s Janet Spre- euw of Baker City, and Gloria and her husband Sam Caniglia of Marsing, Idaho, Kathy Rehbein of Baker City, and her son Kenneth Schuh and his wife Sally of Baker City. Seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and neph- ews also survive Jessie. Bernell Marie Howland Baker City, 1949-2016 Bernell Marie How- land, 67, of Baker City passed away in her home January 22, 2016. Bernie A funeral Howland service was held on Thursday January 28, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in Baker City at 1:00 p.m., with Bishop Tim Taylor officiating. Bernell was born January 6, 1949, to Bernard D. Mc Kown and Edith Vivian Stites in Albany, Cali- fornia. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed being a member of the Cascade Athletic Club, The Salvation Army, and the LDS Church. She is survived by her husband Walter Howland of Baker City, OR and her daughter Tiffany Glenden- ing of Morrilton, Arkansas. Robert “Bob” Leon Trump Elgin, 1942-2016 Robert “Bob” Leon Trump, 74, died from COPD com- plications on January 23, 2016 at Bob his home Trump in Elgin, Oregon just two days after he celebrated his birthday. A Celebration of Bob’s life was held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Elgin Stampede Hall. Bob was born on January 21, 1942 in La Grande, Oregon to Ray and Pearl Trump. He was the second of four children and accord- ing to his mother he was “the prettiest baby I’ve ever seen.” He grew up in Elgin where he enjoyed hunt- ing, fishing and playing football. In 1960 he graduated high school and joined the Marine Corps, serving our country for four years. After his tour of duty, he met the love of his life, Mary Armon and they mar- ried in 1965. The couple had three children and raised them in a happy home, taking the family on many enjoyable vacations. Bob worked in law enforcement and worked as a Union County Deputy Sheriff and later a Proba- tion/Parole officer in Baker and Umatilla Counties un- til his retirement in 1999. He served his community as a member of the Elgin City Council and as the County Sheriff’s Deputy Coroner. Bob loved life, had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and his 13 grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Pearl Trump, Sister Tamara Robinson.
