FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2015 THE BAKER COUNTY PRESS — 11 Local & Entertainment — Obituaries — CONTINUED FROM PAGE 2 Nancy Harlow Basche Nancy had a special bond with her granddaugh- ter Kersey. Kersey moved to Baker to keep an eye on her beloved grandma and keep her company. Nancy’s positive encour- agement influenced Kersey to spread her wings, get her first job and drivers license and contributed to the young woman Kersey has become. Nancy’s long battle with cancer brought her and her relationship with her sister’s Betsy and Suzanne closer together even though she always said she was “fine” and said she “felt better than the day before.” Betsy and Nancy endured many miles traveled, painful tears and joyous laughs. Betsy never left her side and held her hand until the end. Her younger sister Suzanne had come the distance to comfort, share heartfelt deep conversa- tions and nursed her until the end. Nancy will be remem- bered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, her amazing flower garden, sunflowers, her glistening tan, her chiming silver ban- gle bracelets that she never took off and for her hairdo that never changed. Nancy had many friends who wanted to be surrounded by her for her warm em- brace, positive attitude and listening ear. She never turned a cold shoulder to anyone and always had a shoulder for anyone to cry on no matter how rich or poor, young or old. Survivors include her two daughters Han- nah Mercado and Sada Muongvang, son in laws Juan Mercado and Paul Muongvang, grandchildren Kersey, Jamisun, Giacomo, Jacob, Elizabeth, Devyn and Johnny. Mother: Mary Basche, sisters: Betsy Wilson and Suzanne Mc- Crone, brother in law Mike Wilson and many nieces and nephews and all the Combs family that always considered her part of the family. She is proceeded in death by her father Paul Basche. Donations can be made on behalf of Nancy to the Heart’n Home Hospice & Palliative Care, LLC, they took great care of her on her last few days and would like to share the same with someone who is less fortunate.
