I’m in a canyon!” and all went quiet while I sat there helplessly waiting. “I’m out of the canyon,” came his voice minutes later, and then he added, “Come on down I’m lined up on the strip.” What relief washed over me! But... “Come on down…” was something I’d never done before in clouds. I gingerly let the Citabria slowly spiral down the hole. In seconds I could see trees, the canyon, and then a lot of flat Big Sky landscape. As I turned left under the cloud base, there was the Forest Service strip right on my nose. I sighed, and just let the Citabria roll out on her own until we ran out of inertia so I could quit shaking.
