and finally the police was notified of
a strange acting tnan. Officer Walter
Howe was sent out to round him up.
He was found on Htnte street nenr hn
public library digging a hole in the
ground with his hands and fingers.
When brought to. the police station, he
said he was in Kedding, CnliFornTn, and
that he hsd left his 'baggngc in a near
by" saloon, and he asked permission of
the police to step out into the saloon.
This, hesides other evidence, wne re
garded a sufficient evidence to send
him to the Mate hospital for treatment
