placed as part of the estate.

whatever part of the estate remained

beqnesti, settled, should be given to
the American Med Croiw. Hence the
American Ued 'ross will receivn this
amount.

The State Highway Commission
started today on ono of its moat ex
tended tours of investigation, goiug
from Portland lo Astoria and' tueuce
south through the state to the Califor
nia lino by h route not definitely
stated. Among other important units

vicinity of iMewport. Lincoln, which
voted Ootids to the extent of $130,000
wants a road to lend out from Newport
to the Benton county line. Tho com
