which were represented to him to be

that after the deal hsd been made, he
found out that the elevutor was nothing
but an old barn or shack and that lu

William MeOilchrist, Jr., appeared be
fore the council in behalf of the tutrl
otic citizens of the city who are work
ing fur the greatest Fourth celebration
ever known in Hnlcin. He explnined
that lie didn't get a cent out of all the
work he was doing, but thnt It hud been
the Imliit for the past 13 years of put
ting hint on such committees and that
was the reason he was appearing before
the council asking the official body to
giant the vncntion of certuin streets for
the big event.

the residents along Court street from
the Court apartments to High street, but
Mr. McOilchnst explained that eveij-
lliing was all right and that if it wasn't
ho would enneel the permit of any con
cession that got too noisy.

moved that the Fourth of July commit
tee be granted the atreets it wanted for
the celebration.
