evening of April 4th. Several of the
county officers are to speak also a
splendid program is being planned by
the teachers. -
Church attendance was good last
Sunday and the Sabbath school show

Washington, April 3. Removal of
tho embargo on grain shipments to
Chicago was auuounced today by the
railroad administration.
The embargo was ordered early last
fall on account of tho congestion which
arose at the time in Chicago becauso of
heavy grain receipts from the south
west. The order today permits tho free
movemuit of grain from all' points into
Chicago without observance of the li
cense regulations.

the act of June 9, 1916, (39 Stat., 218),
aud the instructions of the Secretary
of the Interior of September li, 1917,

be sold April 8, 1919, at 10 o'clock a.
m., at public auction at the United
States land office at Portland, Ore
gon, to tho highest bidder at not less
than tho appraised value as shown by
this notice, sale to bo subject to the
approval -of the Secretary ,of the In
terior. The purchase price, with an ad
ditional sum of one fifth of one per
cent thereof being commissions allow
ed, must be deposited at time of stile,
money to be returned if sale is not
approved, otherwise patent will issue
for the timber which must be removed
