Baker Says Troops Will Be

Mr. Farmer:
We are writing a great many contracts for Spinach and Beans but we
need more to complete our requirements. : .
SPINACH
An easy crop to grow and should be planted as soon as possible. This crop
can easily be followed with beans or other crops. Many soils tributary to
Salem will grow fine Spinach.
STRING BEANS 1
We need a large acreage and growers will find this a profitable crop. We
do not require the so-called "Baby Beans" like canneries use but use well
developed pods provided they will snap when broken. This means easier
picking and greater weight. We use the Burpee's Stringless Green Pod Var
iety which is an early bush bean.
We will furnish full information regarding culture and our field depart
ment will advise you regarding the proper soils. We supply seed at cost.
Call at our office or phone 830. Address Luther J. Chapin, Field Agent.
