Washington, Jsa. 26. Old man H. C. L. is due for some bumps, judging by the way wholesale food prices have been going down at large city markets from the Atlantic coast to the Eockies. In some rases retail prices are al ready tumbling, according to informa tion obtained today from the leased wire of the bureau of markets, depart ment of agriculture. From Denver to Boston declines in wholesale prices are reported in butter and eggs, ranging up to 11 cents for butter and to 10 cents for egg. In some instances these decree ses havo already affected retail prices, while in other cities retail prices are slower to respond. Buffalo reports retail prices tending to follow wholesale prices down. Retailors at Detroit are reported slow to make cuts in response to declining wholesale prices, while slight decreases m retail priceg are reported from Phil-1 ilelplnu, Denver, Cleveland and Uoston. .
