Seattle port commissioners have eniored into a wranglo with the county authorities ov er the question of their salaries. Port commissioners were unpaid offi cials until the electors of the port dis trict approved an annual $3000 salary for ei;h member. . The commissioners are now trying to collect their checks from the county au ditor but aro refused on the wording oi a Btte law which says "no man's sal ary shall be increased whilo he is in oiiicc." The commissioners contend that you can ' incrcaso" a salary which never existed and that they arc not asking for art increase but a "creation.
