B. Scott, who resides at 911 Normandto street, Spokano, Wash., recently in one of the most rcmarKabie statements yet puo lished in connection with Talilao. "I had suffored with my right sido for four or five yoars," said Mrs. Scott, "and for tho past two years have been under almost constant treatment. I kept getting worse, and until finally I was advised that an operation was my only hopo of recovery. When I front to the hospital I weighed one hun dred and fifty-five pounds, and left after two woeks stay there woighing only ono hundred and thirty pounds. This operation was for an adhesion of tho stomach, intestines and appendix, and for a while I seemed to get along nicely. But it was not long until i com nienced to suffer with awful paint over my right kidney, and it was impossible for me to lay on that side.' Then I was told I would never have a peaceful moment until I was operated on for this trouble also, and I just couldn't bear the thoughts of it. "I had been reading about Tanlae but my husbaud would not hoar to me taking it.) At lust I sent and got a bat tle without his : knowledge,, as I was anxious to avoid another oporation, and that was ono of the luckiest days of my life. Tanlac soon gave mo an enormous appetite and I have gained m strength and weight with every bot tle I am on my ninth bottle now, and have actually gained twenty-five pounds, which is all I had lost. When my physician saw me about two Weeks ago he said he never saw such an im provement in anyone -and that the op eration would not be necessary. , You can imagine bow delighted I wag to es cape the second operation. I have all my strength back now and I don't feel it a task to do U my housework in cluding iny cooking! I have suffored since clutilhooa with constipation ana since taking Tanlac 1 notice a big im provement in this respect too. I am glad indeed to tell mv frionds about Tanlae and several of ,my neighbors are now taking it on account of what it has done for me." Tanlae Is soli in rtubbard by Hub bard Drug Co., in Mt. Brooks writes homo as follows in regards to the ar mistice: "To my dying day I will never eease to wonder at the calm of the i'rencti pcoplo extending over a period of about two hours before pandemonium broke loose.- Perhaps it was the inability to comprehend af tcr their sorrows and sur fcrincs, that this was really the end. "Then miraculous things began to happen.- Tho people began to throng the strocts, first erowds of soldiers, who seized the women and kissed them, and then crowds of younger folks, boys and eirls, always the French flag at thoir head. By throe o'clock you could hardly force your way through the crowds, but the noise was confined to the singing of patriotic songs. Little processions were organized which grew with tho speed or a snowoau. "At 4:30 o'clock the bells rang and- workmen were placing lights that had been torn down four years before. On the bulletin board was the simple sen tenee 'L 'armistice est signee.' "As for myself and when we will return and hat we are to do, that remains snanswered at present." I Corporal Headrick Te4s Of Advancing Toward Rhine Corporal E. Headrick of Co. C, 107 Field signal bureau in France, writes his mother in part as follows: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER "Yesterday the armistice, was sign ed and thero is sow pcaco ad good will in the front. Last night tho Booties came over and wanted to exchange sou venirs but we had orders to drive them back. 'Wo aro expecting to move soon as ordorg say we must follow them clear back to the Rhine. We feel we are lucky to he one of the divisions to see the Rhine and to follow the Booa tut of France. "We are now advanced into the re gions the Germans held for four years and it is out of the shell hole firo sone so of course the buildings aro in good condition. We have real chairs and ta bles, a clothes closet and two kerosene lamps. So you see we are fairly com fotahle " The paper I am writing, on was part of the Gorman doctor's effects. He used to have chargo of the graveyard next to us. The graves wore well takou care of and Bhowed they expected to be left there and that this was to ) German soil after the war. "There are three or four good pianos in town and many piano players. So we are having plenty of music. The Bodies are having a great time over on their side tonght blowing buglos and shoot ing off their spare rockets. They are certainly happy that peace is now a probability.
