When a warrant charging issuance of fraudulent checks was sworn out today it became known that James L. (Jim mie) Valentine, named in the warrant, h8d disappeared about April 7. He is a drug salesman known up and down the coast. Jimmie Valentine Is we'l known b cause of lis jovial nature and his build. He weighs 2o0 , pounds nnd is short. Despite this description the police of many cities' and a private detective agency have failed to find him. Valentine is charged with cashing a spurious $100 check at the Imperial hotel Here and smaller checks at var ious business houses. All were drawn on the Portland First National bank.
