Hatch, Pioneer, Dies Suddenly Tcday Herbert W. Hatch, an old and well known resident of this city, died sudden ly this morning about 10:30 o'clock at his home, 1835 Center street, at the ago of 63 years. He arose this morn ing and performed his usual duties about tho house in the best of health and spirits. Death came suddenly as he was sitting in his chair reading, heart fail ure being-attributed as the cause. Mr. Hatch has made his home in Sa lem for the past 30 years. He was a believer and one of the most sincere workers in the Christian Science faith. He is survived by his widow, one daugh ter, Mrs. Mirrah Warner, of North Bend, and one son, Harold Hatch, also of North Bend. Funeral srvices will be held Sunday afternoon at 12:45 from the Rigdon chapel, under the auspices of the Chris tian Science faith. The remains will be taken to Portland for cremation. Members of Co.
